Leadership

Leadership from the Rig

This book helps the reader see leadership from the perspective of a struggle to influence the team’s pursuit of common goals.

We define teams as two or more people working together to achieve common goals. But unless everyone on the team is actively “influencing” their team in how they pursue their goals, the team becomes dysfunctional.

This book stresses the importance of influencing, and empowering others to influence, in order to have a successful team. It also discusses the power struggles that surface as people compete for the right to influence. Conflict management skills are then presented as a means of strengthening the team through positive conflict.
